In other news, Gaga has been criticized by Stephen Mandel, mayor Edmonton, the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta. Ednmonton prides itself on being the "oil capital of Canada." While in the area recently, Gaga spotted a large sign that read: "This Is Oil Country," and found it humorous that the "O" in the word country was temporarily missing -- so it looked more like C-U-N-T-R-Y. She posted a Twitpic of the sign with the caption: "Holy mother of laughter."
But Mandel, the mayor, didn't think Gaga's tweet was very funny. According to the Toronoto Sun, he said blasted the star, saying, "Some things are disgusting and you shouldn't have to say they're disgusting. I think it demeans them more than anything else."
