Now that they've sold more than a million copies in the U.S. of their 2011 fifth album, Mylo Xyloto, Coldplay has given into popular demand and begun streaming the album at Spotify. Until now, the British quartet has not allowed this or any of its albums to appear on Spotify or any streaming sites. Now it's popped up on the Rdio streaming site as well as Spotify. Coldplay did not explain their initial decision to avoid streaming sites in the first place, which acts like the Black Keys and Adele have also skipped.
The Keys told VH1 that they felt streaming sites were unfair to both artists and fans.
In other news, Coldplay has also released an official music video for "Charlie Brown," the third single from Mylo Xyloto.
The album has been nominated for three Grammy Awards and sold 447,000 copies in its first week of release.
Coldplay will begin its first North American tour in nearly three years on April 17th in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, winding down on August 11th in St. Paul, Minnesota. The group is also scheduled to perform with Rihanna at the Grammy Awards this Sunday (February 12th).
