Hip hop mogul Jay-Z will read excerpts from his new book, Decoded, at the New York City Public Library on November 15th. The book is slated to hit stores on the following day, November 16th.
The book's co-author, Dream Hampton, recently shared that the book isn't a memoir as was previously reported. Hampton said via Twitter, "Collaborated with Jay-Z on Decoded, in stores this November. Not an autobiography . . . book is about his process, his lyrics, stories behind them."
Taylor Swift is personally seeing to it that a playground in her hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee gets a complete rebuild after being damaged in the May floods. The singer donated $100,000 to the city to jump start the process. Work on the Kids Kingdom playground is set to begin in the spring, according to the Hendersonville Star-News. The money will also go toward repairing the city's volleyball courts.

Several Greenpeace and Amnesty International volunteers were detained by police outside of U2's first-ever concert in Russia on Wednesday night (August 25th). The BBC reports that members of the organizations were detained after handing out leaflets outside the Moscow gig. A police spokeswoman said they didn't have permission, but Amnesty International head, Sergei Nikitin, said U2 management had assured them all the necessary permits were in place.
