KATY PERRY'S 'TEENAGE DREAM' DEBUTS AT NUMBER ONE

Katy Perry's Teenage Dream album debuted at Number One this week, moving more than 192,000 copies. She tweeted about the good news, writing, "Before I purr off to dreamland I want to say THANK YOU! Thank you so much for my FIRST #1 RECORD DEBUT! I couldn't have done it without YOU." She then tweeted a photo of cupcakes and noted, "YAY CUPCAKES FOR EVERYONEEEEEEEEEE!"

Perry says she put in a lot of time and effort before becoming a success: "I always use these kind of examples. I was in the dugout for five years. But I knew one day I was going to have the opportunity to step up to the plate and if it were up to me, I was going to try my best -- just my hardest -- to hit a home run. And I did. And I'm very happy about that of course."

Fantasia took second place this week with her album, Back To Me, which had sales of more than 122,000.
