Taylor Swift and her friend, Selena Gomez, were among the fans in the crowd at the first Notre Dame football game of the season in South Bend, Indiana on Saturday (September 4th). Taylor was on campus to pay a visit to her brother, Austin. After the "Fighting Irish" beat the Purdue Boilermakers 23-12, Taylor, Selena and Austin went to a local restuarant for a bite to eat.
A source told OK! magazine, "She had dinner after the game in a corner booth with two bodyguards blocking off the table at Rocco's in South Bend, Indiana." When their meal was over, they "were quickly escorted out between the two bodyguards to an awaiting car."
The source added, "One excited ND fan shouted, 'I love you Taylor.' And Taylor, as sweet and sincere as ever, turned around and said, 'Aw, thank you!' Her brother looked embarrassed and Selena was smiling while trying to hide under her baseball hat and hurry out."
In other Taylor news, the superstar's cool factor seems to be pretty high in rapper Nelly's household. Nelly told Billboard that his biggest validation for his teenage daughter that her father is still cool came in the form of a Tweet from Taylor. She posted, "I'm so in love with that new Nelly song," referring to his "Just a Dream" single.
Nelly said, "My daughter was like, 'OMG!' I'm only cool to her because I know Chris Brown and Bow Wow, and now Taylor tweeted about me."
Taylor's new CD, Speak Now, will be in stores on October 25th.
Her debut single, "Mine," is quickly climbing the country charts.
